Hello!
I’m Devon Dagworthy, a Toronto & NYC-based knit and crochet designer. My purpose in life is to make the mundane magical.
I truly believe that the challenge to make a garment from a single length of yarn is the most exciting experience that a designer could hope for. Getting tangled up in the process just makes the journey more fun.
I grew up in an artistic and tactile family. My mom, a couturier-turned-fashion stylist, would offer a needle and thread to cure a spell of childhood boredom, while my grandmother was an unintentional pioneer of DIY-fashion, seldom wearing a garment as it was intended to be worn from a store. These two feminine firebrands gave me a strong foundation in both technique and creativity that I hope comes through in my spontaneous and playful designs.
My all-consuming hobby led me to study at Parsons The New School For Design with a specialization in knitwear. I feel truly lucky that I've been able to turn what I do for fun into a lifelong career.
I also work as a photo retoucher and I love taking pictures and making pet portraits for fun. I may be secretly painting your dog right now...
Words I live by: Always take your work seriously. Never take yourself seriously.
